Visa signs up as exhibition partner for Fintech Forward

Visa, a world leader in digital payments, today announced it is joining Fintech Forward 2024 (FF24) as an exhibition partner. Marking the second edition of FF24, the flagship installment scheduled to take place on October 2nd and 3rd at Bahrain Exhibition World will be programmed by Economist Impact and hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board, with the support of the Central Bank of Bahrain and Bahrain FinTech Bay.

FF24 is part of Economist Impact 2024’s Transformation Agenda series, which brings together international fintech experts, leading financial institutions, and key stakeholders to debate how macroeconomic and technology-led trends are impacting the global industry and its players. The agenda will feature Godfrey Sullivan, Visa’s Senior Vice President, Head of Products and Solutions– CEMEA region, in a panel alongside industry experts to discuss advances in technology within a region currently experiencing a surge in the use of digital payment methods. Joined by senior executives from Circle and Swift, the session will focus on the impact of contactless payments, mobile wallets, blockchain, and biometric authentication on the payment industry.

Visa remains at the forefront of digital innovation and is actively supporting fintechs in Bahrain, having recently concluded the third edition of the Visa Everywhere Initiative (VEI) for fintechs in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman.  VEI is a global open innovation program where fintechs compete to gain access and exposure to Visa’s vast networks of partners in the banking, merchant, venture capital, and government sectors. Visa is also empowering local businesses to create seamless payment experiences and ensuring security and accessibility in the digital economy, all while promoting financial inclusion in Bahrain and wider region.

Malak Alsaffar, Visa’s Country Manager for Bahrain, stated, “We are excited to be part of Fintech Forward 2024. This event provides an exceptional opportunity for collaboration in a rapidly evolving sector. Our dedication to advancing digital payments is integral to our business strategy, which aligns with the event’s focus. Through our participation, we aim to foster innovation and contribute to shaping the future of the fintech landscape, enhancing both consumer and business experiences in Bahrain and globally.”

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, Fintech Forward has established itself as a key regional event for innovative leaders to exchange experiences, collaborate on insights, and network with peers. This year’s edition will highlight Bahrain’s impressive advancements in digital transformation, its growing fintech sector, and the development of a highly skilled talent pool that supports the development of the sector.
